The article deals with the definition of the myth of different researchers, as well as the use of elements of the myth in the work of such Uzbek writer, statesman as Sharaf Rashidov. On the example of the story "Kashmir song" the author traces the principles of using mythological motives that perform certain artistic functions, act as a tool and technique.
