The "International Journal of Central Asian Studies" is an academic, interdisciplinary and peer reviewed journal. The journal publishes articles, reports, reviews, announcements about academic forums, and translations in the field of Central Asian studies, covering: history and archaeology, ethnography and anthropology, linguistics and literary studies, art and architecture, manuscript heritage and sources studies, philosophy and sociology, economics and political science, geography, etc. The journal releases two issues annually.
All publications are in English.
The journal was established in 1996 by the Institute of Asian Cultures and Development (IACD), an international non-governmental organization based in Korea, which was founded in 1983. Through its scientific activities, the IACD aims to support the social, economic, and cultural development of Asian countries.
Today the journal is issued by International Association of Central Asian Studies with headquarters in the Republic of Korea and Korea University of International Relations. It operates with main offices in the Republic of Korea and Uzbekistan.
The journal is indexed in MLA International Bibliography and Aldebaran. The journal has been officially listed by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan among the publications whose articles are mandatory for obtaining a doctoral degree.
